Hawai‘i Children's Trust Fund: Community Awareness Events
The purpose of the Hawai‘i Children's Trust Fund is to support the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This funding supports community events that increase awareness of activities and strategies that prevent child abuse and strengthen families.
Funding is available for: events that provide information about community resources and support, and training events where professionals and paraprofessionals can gain skills to enhance prevention services.

Hawai‘i Children’s Trust Fund: Public Awareness—Planning
The purpose of the Hawai‘i Children’s Trust Fund is to support the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This funding supports the planning and development of public awareness messages and activities that increase awareness of nationally recognized protective factors and lead to behavioral changes that support the primary and secondary prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Persons In Need (PIN) Program for Elderly Services
The goal of the PIN program for Elderly Services is to “support Hawai‘i’s poor/frail elderly, 65 and older, as they age in place.” This is accomplished through funding qualified non-profit organizations that provide direct access to medical care, basic needs, chore services and adult day care programs.
The Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF) is inviting submission of an application from current PIN grantees and those organizations that HCF has identified as being eligible to apply only. The next grant making round will be in 2011.
The Rev. Takie Okumura Family Fund - Children and Youth
Supports programs that lead to the healthy development of Hawai‘i's young children and youth. Two areas of focus: 1) Youth (ages 6-20 years old) and 2) Young Children and their families (ages birth to 5 years old).
PIN funds available through the Theodore A. Vierra Fund and Kitaro Watanabe Fund for Hawai‘i Island residents over 50 and children on Oahu who are under 18 with serious medical conditions or special education needs.
Victoria S. & Bradley L. Geist Foundation: Enhancements for Foster Children
Supports the enhancements of the lives of foster children by providing items and services that allow them to enjoy a quality of life similar to that of their naturally parented peers.
