Hawaii Community Stabilization Initiative: Final Report (2009-2012)

The Hawaii Community Stabilization Initiative (HCSI) was a three-year collaborative effort of 12 funders who came together in late 2009 to help families and individuals struggling in the midst of the worst economic recession in recent history. By pooling resources, HCSI provided $4.2 million in grants from 2009 to 2012 to help stabilize the community through immediate and long-term support. This report details how the funders collaborative streamlined access to funds, leveraged over $23 million of previously untapped public dollars for Hawaii, and laid the groundwork for new, more effective models of human service delivery to improve outcomes for island families.
