Help the Maunakea Fund

Maunakea on Hawai‘i Island represents a place where science, culture and the environment come together. Established in 2016, the Maunakea Fund at Hawai‘i Community Foundation supports programs that reflect and promote these vital interests and the shared future of Maunakea. By honoring and unifying these distinct interests, we all honor Maunakea.

The Maunakea Observatories currently partnering in the Maunakea Fund include Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (EAO), Gemini International Observatory, NASA Infrared Telescope Facility, and Subaru Telescope. The Maunakea Observatories partner in a variety of ways to promote a unifying vision for the betterment of the Maunakea, our community and the future of Hawai‘i. Sponsorship of programs from the Maunakea Fund is professionally managed and advised by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation.
